Pre - Primary

Welcome note from the Head teacher

Josnah Primary School – Pre Primary Section opened its doors to the first lot of learners in January 2015. This time it was referred to as Josnah Kindergarten. The name changed recently following the advent of the New CBC curriculum which emphasises more on Pre Primary Education

Josnah School has been running its own Pre School for over 22 years before building a separate state of the art Pre-Primary Section. This is a unique educational environment. It is a place where we have committed ourselves to the vision of raising achievement, aspirations and enriching partnerships.

The size and structure of our Pre Primary Section allows for each child to be treated as a special individual. The staff at Josnah takes their roles as mentors very seriously. They seek to mentor learners as they begin to take responsibility for their own decisions, determine their own attitudes and form their own opinions as to what life is all about.

Assistance is given to learners to achieve academically and grow physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Our goal is to develop children of character in faith nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence and commitment to service

The section has built a reputation for the quality of its work, from developing teaching and learning to the extra-curricular opportunities. Through the quality of teaching and learning, the learner support and commitment to extra-curricular activities we create the building blocks of success

Literacy and numeracy knowledge and thinking skills are strongly emphasized in Josnah Primary School – Pre Primary Section. The school has been putting in significant efforts to develop a vibrant learning environment to enable learners to learn in creative and enjoyable ways, yet striking a balance between meaningful learning and assessment

The School has embarked on CBC Curriculum honour holistic assessment journey since its inception. Our Pre Primary teachers have gone beyond pen and paper testing and use a wide range of assessment tools, such as portfolios, journal writing, performance tasks, and checklists among others, to give our parents a more complete picture of their child’s learning.

Rather than relying on grades only, our parents have been receiving more meaningful and on-going feedback on the child’s development in academic and non academic areas

I firmly believe that a strongly led school is strongly led by many. I know that with the excellent staff team, we have the ability to ensure that your child achieves the very best. Through partnership we continue to enhance and strengthen the success of Josnah Primary School – Pre Primary Section

I assure you that Josnah Primary School & Pre-Primary Section is a school worthy of your serious attention and consideration. I welcome your interest in our exciting school. It gives me great pleasure to invite you to seek an appointment with me or other administrators to discuss the education needs of your child.

Sincerely on behalf of all of us at Josnah Primary School – Pre Primary Section

Mr. Peter Wanjama Kariithi
